Abstract

Relevance. This article analyzes the issue of faith (iman) at the intersection of Islamic theology and modern neurotheology. The study examines the impact of acts of worship (prayer, supplication, remembrance) on neurobiological processes in the human brain, particularly focusing on the prefrontal cortex and the limbic system. It criticizes ideological reductionism, which views faith merely as a chemical product of the brain, and proposes the unity of intellect, heart, and spirit based on the Maturidi school of creed. The contribution of faith to the release of neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin, as well as to psychological stability, is scientifically grounded. In conclusion, theology and neurobiology are presented as complementary fields.
