THE SEMIOTIC DIMENSION OF THE SOMATISM “BEARD” IN THE DESCRIPTION OF A HUMAN PORTRAIT IN THE PROVERBIAL SPACE OF THE KYRGYZ LANGUAGE

Abstract

Relevance. . The article examines the semiotic meaning of the somatism “beard” in the proverbial space of the Kyrgyz language. The aim of the work is to identify the ethnocultural meanings fixed in proverbs, sayings, phraseological units, and stable comparative units containing the component “beard.” The scientific problem is connected with the insufficient study of this image as a sign of social maturity, moral authority, and cultural belonging in the Kyrgyz linguistic worldview. The analysis shows that the beard denotes age, experience, respectability, masculinity, and spiritual maturity, and also serves as a means of expressing moral norms and folk ideas about worthy behavior. The novelty of the article lies in the comprehensive description of the somatism “beard” as a cultural code through which the value orientations of the Kyrgyz people and the features of their traditional worldview are revealed.
