Abstract

The article considers that the basis of the subject activity of a future foreign language teacher is multicultural competence, the formation of which is the goal and result of studying at a language university and reflects the dual nature of the subject "foreign language", which is expressed, first of all, in the need for simultaneous teaching of "language" and "culture". It is also noted that the time language can be considered both as a condition of culture and as one of its elements.

We are sure that the materials of the article makes it possible to correctly assess the difficulties of the problem of the correlation of these concepts. Language can also be considered both as a condition of culture and as one of its elements. The article is written for the practical application of these educational materials in the educational process by university teachers, undergraduates and school teachers.
