DEVELOPING SOFT SKILLS IN PROGRAMMING STUDENTS DURING PROGRAMMING CLASSES

Abstract

This article explores the application and analysis of methods for developing students’ soft skills in the context of programming education. Instructional strategies are employed to cultivate competencies such as communication management, critical thinking, creativity, time management, and teamwork—skills that are fundamental to success in the IT industry. The study highlights pathways for self-development and the formation of professional competencies through these approaches. Although the article focuses on select aspects of soft skills development, it acknowledges the difficulty in ranking these skills by importance due to their context-dependent nature. As a result, a list of commonly valued soft skills has been compiled based on expert opinions. The study demonstrates that the "Flipped Classroom" method significantly enhances students’ soft skills and contributes to improving the overall quality of education. Additionally, practical methods and strategies are proposed for educators to effectively integrate soft skills development into the programming curriculum
