Abstract

The article discusses the issues of defining the digital economy as an activity that uses electronic and digital technology in the provision of goods and services. Currently, in order to create a competitive company, great attention should be paid to a new direction in economic development - the digital economy. The digital economy is those activities directly related to digital technologies, which include the provision of online services, electronic payments, and e-commerce. Typically, the main elements of the digital economy are e-commerce, internet banking, electronic payments, internet advertising and internet games. The digital economy is seen as a new foundation in the formation and development of various areas such as banking, retail, transport, electricity, education, health and much more. In the context of the transition to a digital economy, the role of the intellectual component of human capital has significantly increased, and its important features have been identified.
