Abstract

This article analyzes the impact of climate-induced migration on the economic development of Kyrgyzstan’s regions. Using the cases of Naryn, Issyk-Kul, and Osh regions, the study examines the climatic challenges that drive population migration and the economic consequences of such movements for both sending and receiving regions. It provides assessments of labor resource losses, reductions in agricultural production, demographic changes, and the effects on social infrastructure. The article also presents recommendations aimed at mitigating negative effects and integrating migration into the country’s climate adaptation policy.
