Music in all its various manifestations, in fact, is for the Kyrgyz people a special form of their collective memory, which for many centuries has united many of its generations. It was and remains the most important condition and means of forming a national character, understanding the specifics and identity of the people.
Folk music, along with other genres and types of folklore, reflects many aspects of the way of life - from utilitarian and everyday to the highest - spiritual. It expresses in one form or another both ancient and modern ideas, ideas, views of people about the social and natural reality surrounding them, their beliefs and hopes, the emotional world, etc.
