Abstract

Judaism is known as the national religion. The sacred book of Judaism, the Torah, mentions the Promised Land in the events from Prophet Abraham to Prophet Moses. The migration of Jews, led by Prophet Moses, from Egypt to the present-day Palestinian territories and their settlement there is said to have occurred in accordance with the commandments of the Torah. During the reigns of the significant kings David and his son Solomon in Jewish history, the capital of Judaism was chosen. In Judaism, the ultimate savior, the Messiah, is also believed to emerge in the capital of Judaism, Jerusalem. All Jews turn their faces toward Jerusalem during worship. When we bring together this information, Jerusalem is the holiest land for Jews, and every Jews wishes to live in Jerusalem. However, Jews are living in various regions of the world throughout history. Jews also live in Central Asia. Central Asian Jews is known as Bukharian Jews. In this article, we discuss the migration and settlement of Jews in Central Asia, focusing on the Bukharan Jews. Until the advent of Islam, the inhabitants of the region had knowledge about the Jews. After the advent of Islam, we can assume that there were changes in the views of the Muslim population in the region regarding the Jews.
