The Quran has been a source of interest for many people since it has been revealed from the side of Allah. The Arabic Quran was translated into many world languages. The holy revelation is being a focal point for everybody till now. The Mediaeval Europe has given a special interest for Quran Studies. It was a necessity to research the Quran for Russian people, who were by neighborhood with West Europe and Muslim countries. Because the lands of Russia were bordered with Muslim countries from East and South. If even the Quranic Studies have begun in Europe firstly, Russian scientists also have given an interest for its research by time. Ignatij Julianovich Krachkovskij was one of the most popular scientists in Russia who has worked on Arabic language and literature and who worked on the Russian translation of Quran. This research was prepared on the article “An-Najm” by Krachkovskij. Our purpose is to examine the article of Krachkovskij and to approach to the issue by etymologic method and to determine the vocabulary meanings of the word “Najm” which was repeated in Quran several times. In parallel to this consideration, the study is consisted of two dimensions. At the first dimension, the Life and Works of Krachkovskij and the Quranic Studies in Russia by Orientalists are discussed. At the second dimension, the word “Najm” and the article of Krachkovskij are discussed. We have used sources like Quranic Exegesis too. The Turkish translation of the article “An-Najm” was appended in the bottom of the article.
