CHANGES IN THE ETHNIC AND SOCIAL PROFILE OF THE CITIES OF ANDIJAN REGION DURING THE PERIOD OF STATE INDEPENDENCE

The article examines ethnosocial transformations in the urban environment of the Andijan region of the Republic of Uzbekistan during the period of state independence (since 1991). Based on the analysis of official statistical data and reports of international organizations, the study explores changes in population size and density, the characteristics of urbanization processes, migration trends, as well as the transformation of the ethnic composition and forms of intercultural interaction in the cities of the region. An increase in the proportion of the urban population and the growing complexity of the social structure are noted in the context of intensified internal and external migration movements, the implementation of institutional reforms, and the introduction of digital technologies into the urban economy. The conclusion emphasizes the need to develop a comprehensive urban strategy aimed at ensuring social inclusion, strengthening interethnic harmony, and achieving sustainable development.
