THE KYRGYZ IN KAZAKHSTAN: HISTORICAL-ETHNOGRAPHIC AND ETHNO-DEMOGRAPHIC RESEARCH

Abstract

Historical and ethnographic development of Kyrgyz in Kazakhstan is comprehensively investigated in this scientific work. An attempt was made to reveal the reasons for the resettlement of Kyrgyz to the territory of Kazakhstan, the historical conditions of migration waves and their connection with socio-economic and political processes. The study covers the period from ancient times to the present day and on the basis of ethnographic materials, the areas of settlement of nomadic Kyrgyz tribes, types of households, social structure, family and social traditions are analyzed. The author examines the ethno-cultural interaction of the Kyrgyz with the local population, their desire to preserve their own cultural core, changes in language, customs and religious practices. The current demographic situation of the Kyrgyz in Kazakhstan, the problems of preservation of national characteristics and the direction of development of the diaspora are also considered. In the scientific work, an attempt was made to deeply analyze the ethnocultural dynamics of the Kyrgyz diaspora on the basis of ethnographic observations and statistical data by region. As a result, scientifically based conclusions are made about the historical fate of the Kyrgyz in Kazakhstan, their ethnic characteristics and place in modern society.
