This study examines the role of women during World War II (the Great Patriotic War) and its impact on their subsequent lives. During the war, women demonstrated resilience, hard work, and selflessness both on the front lines and in the rear. They served as nurses, signalers, snipers, tankers, pilots, partisans, and held other military positions. Additionally, working in industry, agriculture, heavy and light manufacturing, they made a significant contribution to maintaining the country’s wartime economy. After the war, the role of women in society underwent significant changes. On the one hand, they gained equal rights with men and became an important part of the workforce. On the other hand, the consequences of the war – physical and psychological trauma, societal attitudes towards women returning from the war, and the challenges of post-war recovery – created serious trials for them.
