The value of the rich creative heritage of Kazakh scholar Chokan Valikhanov in learning the history of the Central Asia people as a source and historical research is currently important. In this article we collected and analyzed Chokan Valihanov’s data on
Kyrgyz – Kazakh relations in XVII-XVIII centuries based on newly found documental sources, oral folk tales of these peoples and on the current researches of scholars. As a result of this, some indisputable chronological dates have been clarified and new
explanations for controversial moments of the history of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations in particular and the Central Asian peoples in general have been provided.
