General Requirements for Articles
To send a material to the “Bulletin of Osh State University”, the authors must register in the electronic system of Osh State University’s scientific journals https://journal.oshsu.kg. At the stages of working with the manuscript, communication between the editorial office, the author and reviewers is carried out through this electronic platform of the Open Journal System, and in exceptional cases through e-mail.
Manuscripts should be submitted in .doc and .docx format, by uploading them to the journal website (Open Journal System).
The journal “Bulletin of Osh State University” publishes research articles containing the results of original scientific research, conceptual and theoretical analyses, reviews of publications, scientific reports, etc.
The journal publishes only original articles that have not previously been published in other periodicals. Submissions are accepted in three languages: Kyrgyz, Russian and English.
All publications in the Journal are free of charge.
The scientific article should reflect:
- statement of the problem, its relevance and novelty;
- analysis of the problem;
- authors’ proposals for solving the problem;
- conclusions, expected effect.
All articles are mandatory checked by the program “Antiplagiat” on the http://plagiat.oshsu.kg. The required originality of the text of articles should be at least 70%. It is also obligatory for authors to send a scanned copy (in pdf or jpeg format) of the Statement of Ethical Responsibility and a Copyright form signed by the authors.
It is assumed that all authors submitting articles to the “Bulletin of Osh State University” assume all the obligations set forth in the Regulations on the ethics of the publication of the “Bulletin of Osh State University” and agree to the editorial of their material.
The authors of published materials are responsible for the selection and accuracy of the given facts, quotations, proper names and other information, as well as for the content of data not subject to open publication.
Submitted materials must be prepared in accordance with these requirements. Suggestions from reviewers and editors must be corrected and uploaded to the system within 30 days. If these rules and requirements are not followed, the editorial board reserves the right to reject articles without prior review.
Approximate time for publication of received materials is up to 6 months from the date of receipt. Once rejected, an article cannot be resubmitted.
The author is also obliged to indicate the source of research funding.
Technical Requirements
Cover page
- At the beginning of the article, the number according to the Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) is indicated.
- The title of the article should be written in Times New Roman font, with capital letters, centered, in bold, and in 12 font size.
- Information about the author/authors should be written with right alignment, normal font and font size 12. Information about the author/authors is given in the form: full name, academic degree, position and title, place of work, Email, ORCID ID number.
- Abstract – at least 100-200 words. Abstract should include a brief description of the main topic, the problem of the article, the purpose of the work and its results. The abstract indicates what is new in this article in comparison with related topics and intended purpose, should not contain references to literature, and abbreviations. The abstract should be written in 10 font size and with single line spacing.
- Key words (5-8 words) should reflect the main content of the article and the subject area of the study.
- “Bulletin of Osh State University” accepts articles in Kyrgyz, Russian and English. Therefore, all of the above items are provided in the other two languages. For example, if the article is in the Kyrgyz language, then translations into Russian and English of the title of the article, information about the author, abstract and keywords should follow.
- Throughout the Cover page, single line spacing should be used.
Text
- The length of the article (excluding the title, information about the authors, abstracts, keywords, bibliographic list) should be at least 3,000 words and not exceed 9,000 words.
- Page margins: 3 cm from the left edge, 1.5 cm from the right edge, 2 cm from the top and bottom edges.
- The text of the article should be written in Times New Roman, font size 12, line spacing 1.15, spacing between paragraphs before 0 pt, after 12 pt.
- Paragraphs should start with first-line indent of 1 cm.
- When emphasis is required in text, it should be italicized, not bold or underlined.
- Explanations and additions should be given in footnotes (a note to the text placed at the bottom of the page). Footnotes should be written in Times New Roman, font size 10 and single line spacing.
Title system
- Research articles should be structured into sections: Introduction, Method, Analysis, Results, Conclusions, Discussion and Suggestions.
- Titles can be organized according to content in articles written in compilation, conceptual analysis or other types.
- Section titles should be written in bold Times New Roman, size 12, 1.15 line spacing, and aligned to the left.
- There is a three-step system for section titles. Headings of the first level should be written in bold and aligned to the left. Headings of the second level should be written in bold italics and aligned to the left. Headings of the third level should be written in italics and aligned to the left. For example:

Tables and figures
- Tables and figures should be given with numbering in the place where they appear in text.
- In the tables, the title should be written as in the following example. It should be placed at the top of the table, should be written in 11 font size and centered.

- The text inside the tables should be in Times New Roman, size 10, with single line spacing.
- In the figures, the title should be written as in the example below. The title should be placed under the figure, should be written in 11 font size and centered.

References and bibliography
- References, footnotes and bibliography are formatted in accordance with APA citation standards. A reference should indicate the author’s last name, the date of publication of the work and the page number, as shown in the example:
(Altymysheva, 2018, p. 166).
- When referring to data obtained from the Internet, the title of the work, the URL address of the primary source of information and the date of access are indicated in parentheses. Links to the Internet are given in footnotes. For example:
Title of work, URL: http://www.oshsu.kg/ (Date of access: 19.05.2019).
- Each article should have a bibliography at the end.
- The bibliography should be written in Times New Roman, size 12, single line spacing, spacing between paragraphs before 0 pt, after 12 pt.
- The second and subsequent lines of each literature in bibliography should begin with an indent of 1 cm.
Reference examples within text
The bibliographic reference should indicate the author’s surname, the date of publication of the work and the page number. The reference should be indicated for each paragraph or sentence that is not written by the author of the work or in the formulation of which other people’s thoughts and ideas were used.

- Several references in the same brackets should be in alphabetical order by the last name of the authors and separated by a semicolon:

- References to institutions are given with the full name at the first mention, and the abbreviation in the following mentions:

Examples of APA usage in the Bibliography list
References must be arranged in alphabetical order, at first sources in Russian and Kyrgyz (Cyrillic), which is followed by sources in foreign languages (Latin). Sources of non-Latin alphabet (for example, Chinese and Arabic scripts) must be indicated in the original language with obligatory translation into one of the working languages of the journal (Russian, Kyrgyz or English). For example:
