Abstract

This study examines the evolution of agriculture in the Kyrgyz Republic and its role in ensuring food security. It also examines the importance of agriculture in providing essential food products, the selection of essential food products for the population, and mechanisms for self-sufficiency. The Kyrgyz government has selected nine essential food products, and the supply of six has been resolved. The next step in addressing food security is addressing the availability of vegetable oil. Therefore, food shortages must be addressed through crop breeding and crop loss reduction.
