USING SIMPLEX METHOD FOR PRODUCTION PLANNING

Abstract

Linear programming methods are widely used to optimize many business processes. The efficiency criteria include such parameters as: optimal distribution of enterprise resources, minimizing costs for the production of a particular type of product, maximizing production income, etc. Today using the linear programming methods in the economic sphere is relevant, since the use of mathematical models in linear programming problems is an important direction for improving the planning and analysis of the activities of any enterprise. In economics, linear programming problems play a significant role because they allow one to effectively solve various optimization problems under conditions of limited resources. The article is devoted to the use of the simplex method for production planning. The object of study is the process of finding the optimal solution to a linear programming problem. Calculations are performed using the MS Excel “Solution Search” add-in. The results of the study are planned to be generalized when performing individual and coursework, writing qualifying bachelor's and master's theses.
