This article examines the Trombe–Michel effect as a component of passive solar heating in buildings. The system efficiency is analyzed using mathematical models that account for insolation patterns, transient heat transfer, and the thermal balance of indoor space. A comparative analysis of commonly used materials for heat-accumulating walls is conducted based on heat capacity, thermal conductivity, phase shift of heat waves, and overall energy efficiency. It is shown that the choice of wall material significantly influences both the amount of solar energy stored and the time required for its transfer into the building.
