The article briefly discusses the concept of the separation of powers and defines the functions of one of the three branches of power of this doctrine, namely the judiciary. The judiciary is an independent branch of the state power of the Kyrgyz Republic, which is exercised by an independent court in cooperation with other institutions of the state and society. The paradigm of rethinking the place and role of the court in a modern state is traced
